Joaquín Sorolla y Clotilde, el arte del amor: "Todo mi cariño está reconcentrado en ti"

Sorolla ganó un premio por su obra Defensa del parque de artillería de Monteleón y comentó a un amigo: "Aquí, para darse a conocer y ganar medallas hay que hacer muertos"

Comenzó a pintar al aire libre, dominando con maestría la luz que, combinada con escenas cotidianas y paisajísticas de la vida mediterránea. Sorolla lo corroboraba así en una entrevista: “He vivido siempre al amor de la familia, apartado de todo lo que no fuera el afecto de los míos y la labor artística… Pinto porque amo la pintura. Sorolla won a prize for his work Defence of the Monteleón Artillery Park and commented to a friend: "Here, to make yourself known and win medals you have to kill people".

He began to paint outdoors, masterfully mastering the light, combined with everyday scenes and landscapes of Mediterranean life.

Sorolla corroborated this in an interview: "I have always lived for the love of my family, away from everything that was not the affection of my family and my artistic work... I paint because I love painting. Painting for me is an immense pleasure".
